Job Title: Estimator

Work Summary

Lockwood Remediation Technologies (LRT) is seeking an Estimator with 3-5 years’ experience to join our Leominster, MA operations. The position is a full-time, permanent position. Preferred candidates will have experience in environmental consulting and/or construction, preferably focused on New England projects. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences or equivalent work experience.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly review project specifications, drawings and technical data to gain a complete understanding of the project work scope
  • Identify special project or bid requirements, subsurface conditions and/or potential risks
  • Provide accurate take-offs and assist in developing LRT’s dewatering/water treatment approach and design options
  • Present project summaries of the take-off to the Estimating Group and discuss special requirements, conditions, and project risks that should be considered during pricing and noted or qualified in the proposal
  • Solicit subcontractor/vendor pricing
  • Prepare accurate labor, equipment and subcontractor price estimates for required work scopes
  • Prepare detailed proposals for new opportunities and/or change order proposals for existing projects
  • Maintain the company proposal database, templates and spreadsheets for effective and efficient proposal writing
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients
  • Meet internal and client established deadlines

 

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in construction or environmental related estimating
  • Experience in environmental consulting or construction
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and multitasking skills
  • Possess valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work long hours as well as hours outside of the normal work day

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in dewatering, water treatment and/or remediation
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations (MA, RI, NH, CT, VT, ME)
  • OSHA 40 Hazwoper and OHSA 10 Construction Safety Training

Compensation and Benefits
