The project included an in-situ remediation program conducted in an excavation utilizing Fenton’s Reagent (hydrogen peroxide at 8-10%, an iron catalyst). LRT completed the application of Fenton’s reagent which is a solution of hydrogen peroxide and an iron catalyst that is used to oxidize contaminants and will reduce concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), volatile petroleum hydrocarbons (VPH) and extractable petroleum hydrocarbons (EPH).

Following excavation activities LRT installed a dual-phase extraction (DPE) water treatment system for product recovery and to address residual petroleum impacts in soil and groundwater. LRT provides continued operation and maintenance of the DPE remediation system.
