Motiva Site, Washington D.C.

The project included a large scale remedial excavation completed in conjunction with the redevelopment of the property. LRT supported this remediation project by designing and installing a water treatment system rated for up to 200 gallons per minute (gpm).  Treatment consisted of primary settling within a weir tank, secondary solid separation via the addition of coagulant and flocculant, primary bag filtration, and carbon treatment. With the exception of the weir tank, all treatment system components were housed in a large heated tent for winterization. The primary contaminants of concern in the waste stream included total suspended solids (TSS) and petroleum related compounds.
